We have a fantastic opportunity for a Barbering Lecturer to join our dedicated and exciting Professional & Leisure Services Department.

As a member of the Hairdressing and Barbering team, you will provide a quality, inspirational, learning experience to Barbering students that replicates industry standards. You will be a supportive member of the Hairdressing team and embrace future initiatives that will enhance our students’ journey.

You will be passionate about providing learning opportunities for all, whatever our students’ background and abilities. You will be teaching our learners across Levels 2 and 3.

We welcome applications from those with industry experience looking to take their first steps into a career in teaching.

 

Responsibilities include:

       To provide excellent learning, teaching and assessment across agreed provision specified by the Head of Department/Curriculum Area Manager*

       To plan and be professionally prepared to support inspirational classroom/ salon practice with innovative approaches to improving the learning experience*

       To assess the work and progress of all students and provide them with constructive and timely feedback to allow them to progress. To report accurately on the progress of both individuals and groups.*

       To seek ways of improving student performance by reflecting on teaching design and delivery and obtaining and analysing feedback*

       To participate in the maintenance and promotion of close links with employers*

       Engage in professional development in relation to teaching, learning and assessment, including the use of an evidence-informed approach*

       Contribute to course development including T levels also to keep up to date with any industry or education reforms. To contribute to the development of new programmes of study demonstrating an inclusive and collaborative approach to delivery*

Education & Training

 

*       Level 2 English & Maths (GCSE or Equivalent)

*       Level 3 Barbering qualification

*       QTLS is desirable but not essential

 

Experience

 

*       Experience working in the Barbering Industry

*       Experience of high-quality teaching within an FE environment

*       Experience of the effective design and delivery of high-quality inclusive teaching and learning activities
