Annual Leave Allowance

We offer an enhanced holiday entitlement; for support staff working full time, this is 30 days per year and for teaching staff this is up to 44 days. In addition to this we have 8 efficiency days across the year and time off during all public holidays.

Pay and Pension Schemes

We pay above the minimum wage and our salaries are some of the best in the sector. In addition, the Teachers’ Pension Scheme is available for teaching staff and all other staff can join the West Yorkshire Pension Fund. We make a significant contribution to both.

Health and Wellbeing

A happy, healthy workforce is important to us. We work with our staff to develop programmes to support their health and wellbeing. This includes access to: Free and confidential support for staff and their families through our Occupational Health Service and Employee Assistance Programme | Wellbeing sessions | Access to Mental Health First Aid training | Sovereign Healthcare | Specsavers eyecare and hearing tests | Dedicated wellbeing room and soon to open a "wellness garden".

Free Gym and Sports Facilities

We encourage individuals to take advantage of the College's facilities. From having access to the Gym to joining the established staff football team and boxing club. There is something for everyone!

Restaurant Facilities

Staff have access to onsite dining and refreshment facilities, including our award winning, student-run restaurant, The Grove. In addition, we have several cafés that serve hot food and snacks which can be used during breaks or for meetings with colleagues in a relaxed atmosphere.

Sustainability

We take our environmental, societal and financial responsibilities seriously. We understand that as an organisation we can make a positive impact on improving our environment, locally and globally and strive to reduce our carbon footprint and further our green agenda. As part of this we invited all our staff to contribute to our Sustainability Action Plan and work in partnership with local organisations and our students to ensure we are ambitious in our targets and accountable for our approach.As part of our Green Travel Plan we offer: Free secure bicycle storage (and access to lockers and showers) | Cycle to Work Scheme – helping you purchase or hire a bicycle | Discounted Northern Rail season tickets | Discounted MetroCard - up to 15% off the cost of an annual Metrocard.

Recognition and Celebrations

We take pride in our staff and fully support them to achieve success in their roles. We express our gratitude for the dedication and hard work of our staff by recognising and celebrating their talents and achievements at our annual Winter Conference and Summer Conference. Staff can nominate colleagues to win awards at each conference with categories for individuals and teams.

Our flexible working policy is there to support those who care for children or adults. In addition, our maternity, paternity and adoption policy (includes enhanced College pay) supports staff and their families.

Development Opportunities

​Learning and development opportunities are available to support you to succeed in your role, help you grow and realise your ambitions. This starts with a thorough Induction period with a ‘buddy system’ for new starters. To equip you with the right learning and development at the right time, we offer a range of learning opportunities. You can have a 1-2-1 meeting with out Learning & Development team to plan out the best options for you. These may include: Apprenticeships | Teacher Training | Job shadowing | External courses and conferences | Action Learning – working with like-minded individuals | Group Learning – face-to-face and sessions | e-Learning – accessible at your own desk at a time that’s convenient for you | Group projects | Mentoring and coaching | Distance Learning.
