We have a fantastic opportunity to join our exceptional Apprenticeships and Business Development department as a Business Development Manager.

The Business Development Manager will be accountable for all business development within the department by working to develop and sustain stakeholder partnerships to raise the profile of the department.

You will manage the team of Employer Relationship Officers to ensure targets are being met and that ultimately the department is seen as a key regional partner in the area.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work to develop and sustain stakeholder partnerships to raise the profile of the department.

  • Ensure the department is seen as a key regional partner within the LSIP to raise the profile of courses and careers

  • Be a vocal and influential in promoting departmental events to employers and stakeholders

  • Work with the Head of Department to meet the college’s strategic priorities through the business planning cycle.

  • Work closely with the Marketing Department to build innovative and creative marketing strategies.

  • Lead on partnerships to ensure each curriculum area is endorsed by industry

  • To work closely with the marketing department to maximise business development and recruitment opportunities through the development of events and marketing strategies which raise the profile of the College and promote its curriculum

Education & Training

  • GCSE 4 – 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in Maths or be prepared to pass a test before the interview to demonstrate level 2 ability and then if appointed achieve within an agreed timescale

  • GCSE 4 - 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in English or be prepared to pass a test before the interview to demonstrate level 2 ability and then if appointed achieve within an agreed timescale

  • A relevant bachelor's degree, Level 5 professional qualification or equivalent professional experience

Experience

  • Experience of working in education or the third sector to develop stakeholder partnerships

  • Experience leading teams in evaluating quality and performance and assessing the impact of projects

  • Evidence of academic, industrial or commercial experience in developing business growth

  • Evidence of ability to manage budgets

  • Experience managing human, financial and physical resources.

  • Experience of working with employers, local government, NGOs or third sector organisations
