We are seeking an IT Specialist to join our friendly, customer-focussed IT and Audio-Visual department.
As an IT Specialist, you will be the face of the IT team, providing on-site technical support to Bradford College students and staff. This will include supporting and troubleshooting laptops, PCs, tablets, phones and specialist software & hardware.
Please note that interviews for this role will take place on Thursday 10th July.
Responsibilities include:
Install and configure computer hardware, operating systems and applications
Talk staff through a series of actions, both face-to-face and over the phone, to help set up systems and resolve issues
Troubleshoot system and basic network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware and software faults
Replace parts, as required
Create/update user guides, procedures and reports
Follow diagrams and written instructions to repair faults and set up systems
Support the testing and roll-out of new applications/technologies
Set up and configure new user accounts
Respond to call-outs within agreed time limits
Work continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate)
Prioritise and manage open support cases assigned to them
Establish and maintain a good working relationship with staff and suppliers
Provide cover for the IT Service Desk, as needed

Education & Training
GCSE 4 – 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in Maths or be prepared to pass a test before the interview to demonstrate level 2 ability and then if appointed achieve within an agreed timescale

IT related qualification or equivalent experience.
Experience
Experience and knowledge of PC support, including Microsoft Office applications and desktop operating systems.
Experience of installing, maintaining and repairing PCs.
The ability to demonstrate and explain technologies to non-technical users.
