What you will be doing
We are seeking to recruit a dynamic and experienced lecturer in Media and Film production to join the team at Bradford School of Art. The ideal candidate will have a degree in film or media production, and current experience of practical film production. Confident use of appropriate camera, sound and/or editing equipment and software packages is essential as is a creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching and learning. Experience of teaching across further and higher education courses is essential.
You will teach on practical film and media production modules across the Level 2 and 3 UAL Diploma in Creative Media Production and the FdA Film and Media Production for the Creative Industries course. The role involves the preparation, delivery and assessment of teaching and learning as well as some pastoral responsibility. Bradford School of Art actively promotes a collaborative approach, and you will be expected to contribute to creative projects with colleagues from across the School and wider Faculty.
Main duties
* To teach on courses specified by the Head of Department/Head of School.
* To participate actively in the development of curriculum; and where appropriate in cross College marketing activities.
* To participate actively in the enrolment, induction, monitoring, profiling and initial assessment of students or trainees.
* To devise individual learning plans and provide support for learners in line with the requirements of the course.
* To be responsible to the Head of Department/Head of School for student discipline, counselling and guidance relating to all assigned classes.
* To be responsible for the supervision and management of students on placements and offsite visits and activities where appropriate.
* To act as academic and pastoral tutor to assigned students.
* To implement and promote College regulations, policies and procedures.
* To participate in relevant Course Committee activities.
* To participate actively in the maintenance and promotion of close links with employers and training agencies.
Essentials for the role
* Degree or equivalent in Creative Media
* A relevant teaching qualification or illing to work towards this qualification.
* GCSE A*- C or nationally recognised level 2 qualification in Maths or equivalent. (e.g. CSE 1, O Level A – C) .
* GCSE A*- C or nationally recognised level 2 qualification in English or equivalent. (e.g. CSE 1, O Level A – C)
* Academic or industrial or commercial experience in an area relevant to the programmes.
* Experience of Good teaching/training.
* Experience of student pastoral care and disciplinary procedures
* Experience of course leadership responsibilities.
