Bradford College are working together to transform lives. We aim to provide students with an outstanding experience. We currently have a vacancy for a Work Experience Officer to join the team.

 

As a Work Experience Officer at Bradford College, you will work directly with students to support, manage and monitor all work experience activity. The post holder will hold key responsibility for maximising the engagement of young people in these work placements, whilst seeking and developing working relationships with local and regional employers

 

Responsibilities include: 

  • To engage Bradford College Students in work experience; this will enable the student(s) to enhance their employability skills
  • To source and develop new work experience and industry placement opportunities in subject specialist areas
  • Build strong, robust business relationships through business development utilising all available resources to support the diverse placement activities within the department
  • Develop a robust client database to fulfil the needs of departments and faculties to support students into work experience opportunities
  • To promote and maximize student involvement and engagement with work experience
  • To assess student’s skills and create personalised career development plans to support further development, monitoring progress at regular intervals.
  • Liaise with curriculum teams and employers to set SMART objectives for work experience
  • To meet set targets for work experience in line with agreed performance indicators
  • To regularly conduct work experience visits and engage with a wide range of employers
  • Accurately record and produce reports on student engagement with work experience through our online Work Experience Management System
  • To participate in the evaluation process, reviewing the quality and impact of work experience and utilising this for future development
  • Produce case studies celebrating success and promote to internal and external audiences
  • To undertake tasks relating to the effective management and storage of documentation.
  • To network internally with relevant staff to support the delivery of work experience
  • Attend and contribute to appropriate team meetings, staff development and marketing activities
  • To liaise with curriculum staff and support staff to ensure positive outcomes for students

Education & Training

*    GCSE A*- C or nationally recognised level 2 qualification in Maths or equivalent. (e.g. CSE 1, O Level A – C)

*    GCSE A*- C or nationally recognised level 2 qualification in English or equivalent. (e.g. CSE 1, O Level A – C)

 

Experience

*    Experience of working in an education setting delivering work experience or industry placement opportunities

*    Developing new local and regional contacts through proactive and innovative business development activity

*    Experience of working with a diverse range of people.
