We have a rare opportunity to join our exceptional HR Services department as a HR Shared Services Team Leader. The HR Shared Services Team Leader will play a pivotal role in delivering a responsive, compliant and high-quality HR administration service to the college.
Leading and developing a team of HR Administrators, you will oversee all transactional HR activity, driving performance, continuous improvement and service excellence. Through a positive, professional and motivational approach, you will embed our values, strengthen team capability and ensure a seamless customer experience.

Responsibilities include:
Oversees all transactional HR matters and day to day activities ensuring the provision of an adaptive, timely and compliant HR administration, query resolution and advice service across all areas of the College
Ensures all HR Administration Team activities are completed in a professional and helpful manner with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Activities to include but not limited to: maintenance and updating of employee records, contractual changes, employee relations documents including disciplinary and grievance records, assistance with recruitment, and new hire onboarding support
Communicates with the HR Administration team positively and enthusiastically, defining team goals and objectives clearly to ensure all key deliverables are met in a timely and accurate manner providing direction, guidance and support
Proactively influences the HR Administration Team to deliver all aspects of the HR service with passion and commitment to provide a consistently great customer experience for all areas of the College
Leads the continued professional development of the HR Shared Services team.
Provides training and coaching when necessary to develop team skillset and manage performance, drive results and deliver beyond what’s expected where possible
Provides a high level of expertise and professionalism when advising on HR matters to all customers across the College, all members of the HR Administration Team and external bodies to ensure all services are delivered effectively and timely and meet all policy and compliance requirements
Ensures the end to end process and procedure management is current and fit for purpose, reviewing all documents regularly to ensure accuracy and drive efficiencies
Creates new policies and procedures when necessary, and provides clear, accurate and compliant documentation, ensuring the new guidelines are disseminated appropriately throughout all areas of the College
Manages the process for ensuring all recruitment documents are logged and stored within the Single Central Record (SCR) system and guarantees compliancy relating to safer recruitment checks including DBS checks, referencing, social media screening, health declarations and Right to Work documentation
Oversee the monitoring and recording of all teaching qualifications across the college workforce, ensuring staff meet FE sector professional standards and college policy requirements
Oversee the completion of mandatory TRA checks for all relevant roles, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and the college’s safer recruitment procedures.
Maintains and manages all aspects of the HRIS system, sets up new users and ensures all users are fully trained and capable, and are aware of the importance of quality of information, accuracy and compliance
Responsible for reporting on key metrics accurately and timely to meet team objectives and departmental KPIs

Education & Training
GCSE 4 – 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in Maths, or be prepared to pass a test before the interview to demonstrate level 2 ability, and then, if appointed, achieve within an agreed timescale

CIPD Level 5 or above or working towards this qualification
Experience
Substantial administrative experience in a HR environment and sound knowledge of current employment legislation
Demonstrable evidence of successfully leading a customer focused team
Demonstrable experience of managing performance and ability to build confidence and self-belief to drive results and deliver beyond what’s expected
Advanced skills in MS Office, particularly Excel
