Bradford College is seeking an experienced Business Systems Project Manager to lead a programme of review, refresh and potential replacement of our key business systems.

In this pivotal role, you will ensure that essential services remain uninterrupted, new solutions integrate seamlessly with existing platforms, and all outcomes are robust, future-ready and aligned with the needs of our staff and students.

Please note that this is a Fixed Term position for 2 years.

Responsibilities include:

  • Act as the first point contact for projects and maintain excellent relationships with all stakeholders, both internal and external, through clear, effective and timely communications

  • Establish, facilitate and administer cross-College strategic project teams, to include Project Initiation Document and Action Tracking

  • Manage the expectations of staff who are being exposed to change of both organisation and IT system simultaneously and drive the necessary cultural and behaviour change

  • Ensure the team’s key performance indicators are met and strive to exceed

  • Represent the College on working groups where required

  • Plan and lead the re-procurement/upgrade and implementation of the business systems in line with College Financial and Procurement Regulations

  • Plan and lead the system configuration, change management, user training and successfully managing the project to time, budget and quality, ensuring all agreed benefits are realised

  • Manage the (relationship with the) system supplier/new supplier, ensuring that the solution is delivered and implemented in line with the contract the agreed implementation plan and fully meets agreed College’s requirements

  • Ensure alignment of the project(s) with other projects and programmes within the College’s projects portfolio, both in terms of strategic direction (College Strategic Objectives) and sequencing of activity

  • Oversee the successful integration of the solution(s) within the existing systems architecture and appropriate interfaces with existing systems, working closely with relevant systems experts e.g. Systems and Reporting Services and IT.

Education & Training

  • GCSE 4 – 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in Maths, or be prepared to pass a test before the interview to demonstrate level 2 ability, and then, if appointed, achieve within an agreed timescale

  • GCSE 4 - 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in English, or be prepared to pass a test before the interview to demonstrate level 2 ability, and then, if appointed, achieve within an agreed timescale

  • Level 3 equivalent qualification (e.g. A Level, BTEC National Diploma/Certificate) in a relevant subject

Experience

  • Experience of working in Further or Higher Education (or similar e.g. other public sector organisation)

  • Knowledge/experience of Contract Management

  • Experience of project managing and co-ordinating implementation of digital business systems

  • Experience of working with external stakeholders
