We have a fantastic opportunity to join our thriving Apprenticeships and Business Development department as a Management Lecturer.

The successful candidate will be expected to work with the Head of Department and wider management team in teaching management and team leading qualifications and delivering an outstanding student experience.

Responsibilities include:

  • To teach courses specified by the Departmental Leadership Team.  

  • To participate actively in curriculum development; and where appropriate in cross-college marketing activities.  

  • To participate actively in the enrolment, induction, monitoring, profiling and initial assessment of students or trainees.  

  • To devise individual learning plans and provide support for learners in line with the requirements of the course.  

  • To be responsible to the Curriculum Area Manager for student discipline, counselling and guidance for all assigned classes.  

  • To be responsible for the supervision and management of students on placements and offsite visits and activities where appropriate.  

  • To maintain records of formative and summative assessments of students’ learning carried out to report accurately on the progress of both individuals and groups.  

  • To pro-actively contribute to the success and vision of the department  

  • To undertake programme leadership duties as specified by your line manager or Curriculum Area Manager  

  • To contribute to course development and keep up to date with any industry or education reforms.  

  • To contribute to the development of new programmes of study demonstrating an inclusive and collaborative approach to delivery  

  • To act as academic and pastoral tutor to assigned students.

Education & Training

  • GCSE 4 – 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in Maths, or be prepared to pass a test before the interview to demonstrate level 2 ability, and then, if appointed, achieve within an agreed timescale

  • GCSE 4 - 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in English, or be prepared to pass a test before the interview to demonstrate level 2 ability, and then, if appointed, achieve within an agreed timescale

  • Degree or equivalent professional qualification in Management related subject.

  • A recognised teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.

Experience

  • Academic or industrial or commercial experience in an area relevant to the programme.

  • Experience in Good teaching/training.

  • Experience of student pastoral care and disciplinary procedures

  • Experience of course leadership responsibilities.
